Alain Ducasse and our Michelin Stars experience!

Damian and I just had our best ever dining experience (and I can't imagine topping it any time soon)! As lovers of food and wine, we decided when first booking this trip that we wanted to go to a Michelin starred restaurant while in Paris, so why not go for 3 stars?! We were able to get a booking at Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athenee and what a good choice it was.  Yes it was ridiculously priced, and no we haven't had to sell one of the children, and no we didn't have to do the dishes, but what an amazing night. It had a very grand entrance - we were greeted and seated, and we sat and stared at our gorgeous surroundings. The waiter explained the menu (girls, think Stephane from Sheraton Belgravia :-) and we decided to go for the a la carte option. So this is what we had (photos will be attached after) - 2 appetisers, my entree was guinea fowl with duck liver pâté in a pastry case with gorgeous vegetables, Damian's was cepes mushrooms with many accompaniments. I was given 3 types of bread and 2 types of butter, Damian had home made gluten free bread,  then came main. Mine was spiced lamb, Damian had lobster. Damian chose to have cheeses instead of dessert so was presented with an enormous trolley of cheese to choose from. We were next given dessert appetisers (I kid you not). I had glazed fig tartets (x 6) with a salted caramel brittle, and Damian had 6 enormous macaroons topped with raspberries. I then had 2 parts to my raspberry dessert before being given truffles AND chocolates with my tea (because I hadn't had quite enough sweets!). We counted 15 staff on the floor to the 35 diners, and even the bathroom experience was posh - I was escorted to the door before a lady took me to the bathroom door, before another lady showed me to the actual bathroom.  Very posh indeed! Everything at the restaurant was delicate, fresh and so prettily presented - an amazing experience we'll never forget!
