St Jean D'Angely and The Fallourd family!

We reached St Jean D'Angely and Tom Tom (the GPS) got a bit confused about where we were headed (nothing to do with the operators), so we called Wendy who came to find us with Loic. How fantastic to see them again after 19 years - just wonderful.  We've been having lots of fun catching up, while Damian tries to dig for information about me as a backpacker in London - ha - nothing to find out! We've been treated like royalty - with a beautiful lunch at Wendy and Loic's home of Charentais melon, cheeses, salads and home grown cherry tomatoes, before Alice and Finbarr jumped into the pool. It was a beautiful hot day, like most of our days have been, but the nights have started to get quite cool. After picking Leah up from school and finally meeting her, we had a great wander around St Jean, looking at the lovely town square and buildings. Curtis is away at culinary school, following in his father's footsteps, so we'll meet him on Wednesday.  Peggy and Tink checked into "Hotel De La Place", the business owned by Loic, Wendy and their friend, Pascale - fantastic location! Since last night they've decided to move to St Jean for 5 months of each year! We were treated to the most wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant last night. I had the best foie gras I've ever tasted, followed by guinea fowl with an onion and raisin marmalade and a chocolate fondant pudding. Absolutely delicious!! Joseph and Emily enjoyed the confit duck and Alice and Finbarr were delighted with kids menu fish and chips! ! Damian had beef carpaccio, then sea bass on mushrooms with balsamic strawberries.  Damian's night was made perfect when we arrived back to Wendy and Loic's when Loic brought out a 200 year old cognac for him to try - one happy man! A great day!

  2. I think Loic could make a chicken mayo sandwich while dancing to Funky Town - he is very talented!
