Sunday 16th September - Happy 12th Birthday Joseph!

What a lucky boy - not many Australian children get to spend their birthday in a Chateau in France! Joseph has woken up to a beautiful day to celebrate his birthday, and is now cashed up with lots of birthday money, and other lovely presents. Thanks Aunty Al and Granny for the messages and Aunty Libby - we brought your card with us so he opened it today too - thank you! He doesn't know yet but we've managed to find a chocolate eclair cake (he LOVES eclairs) so we'll post those photos later.  We started with Mass in a tiny town nearby, Omet, then came home  to get some photos of everyone on the last day.  We had lunch in Creon at a restaurant called, La Table, and the kids are getting one last swim in before having to pack the togs. They're also keen to finish the fireworks tonight while altogether.  It'll be an early start for some tomorrow - James and Jenny are off at 5am and nearly everyone else is off at 7am to return cars to Bordeaux and catch trains or planes - between the families they'll be travelling to Paris Disneyland, Finland, Ireland, Holland, Spain and Italy. The Tyndalls are heading to Italy and we'll meet up with them in Rome on 26th Sep and Uncle Conor is heading home.
Our next stop for Peggy, Tink and our family is St Jean D'Angely where I'm meeting up with Loic and Wendy Fallourd and their children Leah and Curtis. I can't wait! It's been nearly 19 years since I last saw Wendy and Loic after working and sharing a flat in London together. They are very kindly welcoming us into their home and after speaking with Wendy yesterday, I'm even more excited. I hope they don't regret it!! (ps Wendy - we got your text messages thank you - our phones aren't working to send you a text- I'll phone you again in the morning).
